An evening stroll along the banks of the Garonne, a quaint café enticing its patrons with the aromas emanating from the kitchen, and candlelit tables for two

Peppercorns, dark chocolate, and hazelnut first impress upon the nose, with underlying dark fruit aromas of black currant, dates, and boysenberry rounding out this classic Cabernet Franc. A sublime salinity, further laced with black licorice and chocolate-covered blueberries, flirts with the senses, suggestive of what is to come. Flavors of sweet winter strawberry, goji, and gooseberry conflict with notes of bitter chocolate, coffee grounds, and tart cranberry to create an all-encompassing sensation on the palate.

A cozy farm-table supper, warmed by a rustic fire, staves off the evening chill and satiates the soul.

This Old-World-inspired Syrah initially presents savory aromas of dark chocolate and cedar, augmented by blueberry and plum. A few glass swirls allow the bouquet to develop into mouthwatering notes of freshly baked pie, star anise, and lingering cigar smoke. The first sip reveals the complex symmetry of the fruit – cranberry, pomegranate, and blackberry- with savory black pepper, eucalyptus, and vanilla. Strong tannin and balanced acidity make this a food-friendly wine in its youth but indicate a more relaxed tasting experience as it matures.

Distinctive aromas of white peach, pineapple, guava, and mango meld with savory tones of lemon verbena, sweet tarragon, and petrichor to produce a wine reminiscent of those from the Loire Valley. Tropical fruit flavors are again featured on the palate with grapefruit, yuzu, and green apple dominating the first sips. Rounding out the tasting experience are white nectarine, apricot, and graphite before leading to a classic finish full of bright acidity.
