The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is big, opulent, and bold. Highly concentrated raspberry and cherry aromatics evolve into rose pedal while it sits in the glass. The wine is a heavyweight across the palate, both soft and supple but with tannin that draw the cheeks inward. Leaning towards velvet, the wine continues into a finish that leaves you wanting more. Drink now as a young and vivacious wine, or hold for another 5 years to see a more matured and layered wine
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Cabernet Franc
Notes of cherry and spice waft from the glass, with a faint whiff of Tahitian vanilla. The gentle aromatics are belayed by upfront tannin, pulling the cheeks forward suddenly, and then releasing its grip into a nice, mellow finish with touches of spice and black currant. A wine best suited for fans of hearty, big reds.
When 1 will not do... Our first multi-year blend of Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is an example of declassified estate fruit blended from three vintages into a brilliant expressive and engaging wine. The strength and power of the 2017 vintage combined with elegant aromatic 2016 wine creates a wonderful drinkable, approachable and affable nonvintage Cabernet Sauvignon, especially when a small bit of the 2018 fresh lively fruity wine is added.
During this time of limited travel opportunity, we at Vincent Vineyards wanted to make sure that those staying at home still had a chance to be a part of the vineyard experience. Olive Branch is our attempt to reach out and bring part of the vineyard to you. Each two-barrel blend demonstrates different aspects of our vineyard, while also showcasing the common themes that make the fruit at Vincent Vineyards unique.
The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend, for instance, highlights the red fruit and smoothness that comes from our clay soils, while the Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc blend demonstrates the beautiful aromatics that are produced here. These two barrel blends also show a peek into the winemaking process, as we create every blend barrel by barrel to ensure that every wine we craft is the best possible representation of the vineyard.
Aromas of bramble fruit and leather with a hint of sasparilla, the aromatics are soft and alluring. The mouthfeel is supple, with enough tannin to give a soft tug on the sides of the mouth. The finish starts strong, and quickly mellows into a broad red fruit that stays with you. Drink now through the next 5 years.
Nose: Black fruit and leather
Food: BBQ Pork
Bramble and lavender leap out of the glass, with just enough hint of saddle leather to make one think of a relaxing ride through the California desert. The mid-palate is supple but with enough structure to stand, and the tannin is holding well, with a pull that invites one to drink more.
50% Merlot, 50% Petit Verdot
Raspberry and cherry nose with a hint of vanilla and touch of leather, this wine is light bodied through the middle of the palate, with notes of lavender and oak that carry through the finish. The tannin lingers, creating a suppleness that stays pleasant long after the last sip.
